I'm
now working on a Social TV Aggregator - viewmy.tv
- live this week (8th feb07) enabling producers and broadcasters
to stream live content over the Internet to a global audience.
The service comes as Internet TV looks set to take off and provide
a much needed boost to audience figures.
viewmy.tv allows registered users to personalise
the service and recommend channels to their friends. The service
will also host forums
and discussions enabling producers to get feedback on their
programming and will eventually be able to see real-time commentary
of the content as it is broadcast.
With hundreds of channels from around the world, the service offers
specialist broadcasters the chance to push their programming to
a global audience – for free.

I
really enjoy 'moving image' as a general concept. I started creating
animations in the early web days of 1996. Back then image compression
was key and there was a limited amount of software tools to use.
I
remember getting excited back in '97 about 'futuresplash', now
known as Flash, which was bought by Macromedia,
subsequently bought by Adobe
(now used by about 98% of Internet users.)
Now
most of the video turnover online goes through YouTube
with about 100million video views / day. I've combined video with
flash interaction, using video software like Finalcut and Aftereffects.
Video
plugins to have are windows media player (most used), real video,
quicktime, flash video. (There some installation information on
the viewmy.tv help page)
