Who operates this site

DigitalFishing is the online identity of Peter Woodford rather than a separate company. For privacy requests use the Contact page. Before publication, confirm the appropriate data-controller contact details and any required disclosures and required business contact details.

Information you choose to share

If you email us, your email address, contact details and message content are processed to answer enquiries, assess possible projects, maintain correspondence and, where applicable, perform a service agreement. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

Technical information and analytics

The website uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-HEZQD4MBC5) for website audience and usage measurement. Google’s service can process device data, online identifiers, pages viewed and approximate location derived from an IP address; Google states GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses for UK users. We do not intentionally transmit raw visitor IP addresses as custom analytics parameters.

Cookies and UK privacy rules

The use of Google Analytics and any related storage/access technologies must meet applicable UK PECR and UK GDPR requirements. A visit alone is not necessarily valid consent. Some narrowly defined statistical uses may qualify for exemptions only where the legal conditions, appropriate notices and simple objection mechanisms are fulfilled. The current deployment should be reviewed before enabling GA4 automatically; no claim is made that automatic tag loading by itself establishes compliance.

Browser-side tools

The calculators, converters and generators process text and data within your browser. They do not send tool inputs to a DigitalFishing server. Standard hosting access logs and Google Analytics can still receive metadata about page visits. If you follow third-party links, their policies apply.

Lawful basis and retention

Correspondence may be processed based on legitimate interests in responding to a business enquiry, preliminary contractual steps or legal obligations as appropriate. Retain messages only as long as necessary for the purpose and any applicable legal record-keeping periods. Specific retention schedules should be set by the actual provider.

Sharing and international access

Information may be processed by email, hosting or analytics providers, including service providers outside the UK, subject to their contractual measures and applicable transfer rules. We do not sell information supplied in an enquiry.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you may have rights to access, rectify, erase or restrict personal data, object to certain processing and complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us to request action. Rights can depend on the purpose and legal basis of processing.

Security and changes

We apply reasonable precautions and minimise unnecessary dependencies. No internet transmission is guaranteed secure. This privacy notice may be updated when services, providers or practices change.
